LIVE from NYPL presents
Monica Bill Barnes & Company's
LUNCH DANCES
I am a guest performer with one of my truly favorite companies to see or work with - Monica Bill Barnes & Company. If you haven't seen them before, take any chance you can whenever and wherever you find them. You'll feel your world just got better, that you met the friends you didn't know you needed in your life but now can't imagine your life without. Really. (did I say I'm a fan?).
This piece is free but you need reservations (currently sold out) - but there are standby tickets if you come early and put your name on the list.
LUNCH DANCES
Presented by LIVE from NYPL
Running for 4 weeks only!
March 16 - 28 & April 13-25 11:30am and 1:30pm daily
(no shows on Sundays)
New York Public Library Stephen A. Schwarzman Building
476 5th Ave, New York NY 10018
It's your lunch hour. Step away from your desk and into the working world of the library. The collaborative team of Monica Bill Barnes and Robbie Saenz de Viteri have taken their motto of "bringing dance where it doesn't belong" to heart and created a show in the least likely of places, the New York Public Library. Audiences wear headphones for the hour-long performance, tuning them into the personal stories and meaningful movements that may dwell in any corner of the collections.
Wear good shoes, it's time to go for a walk, then back to work.
“The experiential art the company produces creates an intimacy that has the potential to pulverize your insides.” - NYTimes
An amazing night with fellow artists for just one night...

We Are So Happy You Are Here
October 25th & 26th, 2025
We Are So Happy You Are Here, written by Kim and co-directed by Kim and Marina Celander, is a performance piece by a group of human adults and human kids who have gathered just for you. Well, for you and everyone at La MaMa and for all real and imaginary beings, frogs, birds and musicians, too. There may be sparklers. There may be dancing or a song or a bit of music. Oh, and there definitely will be snacks. Bring a friend. Bring your kids or grandma or new neighbor. All are welcome here.
Part of Creatures, a two-week inhabitation of 74A E 4th St. with installations, short works/performances, workshops, meals, vigils, processions, and conversations about liminal beings. Co-conceived by maura nguyễn donohue (NYC) and Erik Ehn (New Mexico), and produced by La MaMa ETC and The Great Jones Repertory Company.
